I got my Vegan Samples bag today! And it is the awesomest thing ever!!! First of all, my cool lil' tote bag has a LION on it. Can you believe it? A freakin' lion! How awesome is that? So awesome. The awesomest, even.

OK, then there's the contents. There are so many wonderful smelling things in it that I could smell them before I'd even gotten the box open. Inside, there were an unbelievable number of goodies - in the form both of samples, and of various coupons and special offers to be redeemed when visiting shops on Etsy and elsewhere.

What did the samples consist of? Soaps, earrings, pins, a fancy flower hair clip, a cool cuff, a lovely sachet, a great puppydog postcard, a cool little crocheted thingamabobber... pulling it all out was like digging into the seemingly endless well of a fantastic Magician's hat. Each item elicited a new "ooh" or "aah" or "yummy!" or "pretty!". Who was I talking to? Umm... well, myself. Whatever, you do it too.

For the variety of surprises alone, the bag was so totally worth the price! I'm just sad we have to wait until August for Sample Bag Numero Dos to appear. But never fear, it's already in the works!

Samples are coming!!!

Everyday we go to the po box, and BEHOLD, more samples have arrived. The first round of vegan sample bags is really coming together and everything looks so awesome and unique thus far. Later today I will be sure to put the new arrivals on the "current contributors" blog link and on our website. If you havnt signed up for the forums on our website, please do so. You can post reviews of the bags on there, ask vegan related questions, meet other veg heads and so much more! Please stop by and introduce yourself.

After a lot of hard work and possibly losing half of my head of hair....the vegan samples website is up and functional!!! Any critiques and tips are appreciated, please email them to ecosampler@yahoo.com
It is getting very hectic and exciting on this end, getting all of the samples in the mail and getting them ready for the bags. The bags are almost all stitched now, and came out really nice. Please remember to vote for the animal sanctuary you would like to see the money go to! And under current contributors we have folks whose items we have already received up and ready to peek at!

Things are moving along rather nicely here, I have most of the bags made and everyday I get more and more emails of people signing up to send in samples! I am hoping that this week I will start posting photos of items as I receive them. Please if you are interested in promoting your shop and helping out a good cause, email me. reusable grocery bags!!!

Today I started making some of the reusable grocery bags, that the sample sets will come in.  I made 2 so far hahah, which is a start.  I upcycled a vinyl tablecloth and made it into 2 awesome market totes, and I think I have enough of that tablecloth left for 1 more bag!  I love when I feel like things are coming together, and I am getting work done.  Too bad the batteries died today, or I would take a photo of these cute bags to share!!

Our very first vegan sample bag!!

Now looking for all types of vegan items for our first vegan sample bag!

What are we looking for?  

Anything that is made without animal products and the ingredients or materials arent tested on animals.  Vegan doesnt just pertain to food.  Soaps, food, jewelry, papercrafts, animal toys and treats, buttons, magnets, handknit items....If you have a craft and arent sure if your samples would be vegan, please feel free to email me at ecosampler@yahoo.com and I would be glad to clarify!

We are hoping to make 50 bags for our first vegan sampler, so when sending items please keep that it mind. 

Submissions are due by March 31, and the bags will go on sale April 14th and 10% of sales will go to an animal charity that will soon be announced!!!

This is a great opportunity to get the word out about your shop, and share handmade items with folks around the country!
